  • Lead the Software Development Department consisting of several software development teams;
  • Prepare lifecycle for different projects including research, development, design, evaluation, testing along with delivery to product management; develop schedules and supervise projects’ status;
  • Develop a practical and working knowledge of business processes; interact with key business partners to recommend solutions that best meet the strategic needs of the business and to understand how our teams can serve them better;
  • Work effectively with Business Analysts and Product Owners to ensure delivery against agreed priorities;
  • Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for the delivery of scalable and high-quality software;
  • Identify and implement technology trends that will be able to support the future success of the business;
  • Create a work environment that motivates the teams and enables them to contribute the full range of their technical and creative capabilities;
  • Build and execute personal and career development plans ensuring the right oversight, mentoring, and training is in place to grow the team’s technical, interpersonal, and communications skills;
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members leaders as well as hold regular team leader meetings;
  • Help recruit and retain talented and hard-working individuals to the team ensuring that the skills and experience of Software Development teams are consistent with its scientific, technological, and business needs for providing quality in present and future services;
  • Establish clear organizational structures and succession plans aligned with appropriate responsibilities, accountabilities, and personal development for all Software Development staff in line with any anticipated growth;
  • Actively participate in budgeting, cost estimation, and annual business plans creation;
  • Build a deep understanding of how our products work and are built. Though you will not be expected to regularly code, you will need to fully grasp code and architecture concerns.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
  • 6+ years of experience in a software development role, preferably within the financial industry but not necessarily;
  • 2+ years of experience managing software development teams in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment;
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced knowledge of .NET framework and .NET Core (with C#), MS SQL;
  • Expertise in microservice architectural patterns and design;
  • Understands Agile principles and can lead relevant processes;
  • Experience with TFS, Git, JIRA, Confluence (or equivalent toolsets);
  • Proven ability to drive the entire software development process from concept, architecture design, development, and QA to deployment of complex web-based and desktop applications;
  • Able to set and manage priorities;
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to hire and grow talented engineers;
  • Proven ability with establishing metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively as well as excellent presentation skills;
  • Self-starter who can come up to speed quickly and identify the problems that need to be solved;
  • Acts with a sense of urgency, especially where customer impact and/or delays exists;
  • Able to envision and deliver software solutions that meet user needs and/or solve business problems;
  • Able to design and architect technically sophisticated solutions to meet challenging user requirements.
